Arches National Park was formed from an ancient desert hardening into sandstone domes that subsequently formed pressure cracks that have weathered over millions of years from rain and wind to reveal the parks high concentration of natural sandstone arches, bridges, and spires  that you see today.

Set against the La Sal Mountain Range to the South, the park is one of my favorite places to visit during the late winter and early spring months.  The air is clear, the sun angle is low, the La Sals are covered in deep snow, and best of all the crowds are low giving you an opportunity to quietly reflect on this rare natural wonder.
