Gooseberry Mesa offers spectacular elevated views of Zion National Park and it’s many sandstone formations.  The tallest and most prominent of these is West Temple rising to an elevation of 7,810 ft [approx. 4,000 ft above the canyon floor].  The West Temple, also known as The Steamboat, can look quite different depending on your viewpoint.  This vantage point is one of my favorites as it highlights the prominence of this dominating feature within Zions’ landscape.
